Domiciliary care providers changing in Knowsley – Wednesday, 1 August 2018
The Council has appointed new agencies to deliver domiciliary care from 1 August 2018. This follows a review of domiciliary care to ensure services are meeting the care needs of residents in their own home. If you receive domiciliary care and your provider is changing, you will have received a letter from the Council telling you who your new provider is. Your new provider will also have contacted you directly to introduce themselves.
What changes might I see when my provider changes on the 1 August 2018?
You might see a change to the uniform the staff normally wear. In some instances, you might see a change in the person delivering your care.
Will there be any changes to my current care and support plan on 1 August?
No – your care plan will remain the same (unless your needs change) and it will be provided by your new care provider from 1 August 2018.
How will the new agency know what they need to do to meet my care needs?
The Council, your current care agency, and the new agency will work together to ensure that the transfer of your care happens as safely and smoothly as possible. This will include providing the new provider with information about your care needs.
What to do if your carer does not turn up at the normal time on 1 August?
Contact your new provider in the first instance. Contact details for your new provider will be on the letter we sent you and also on the letter your new provider will have sent. If you can’t get in contact with your new provider or don’t know who it is, please contact the Council on 0151 443 2600.
What can I expect from my new care provider?
You should expect to receive the same high standard of care that you expect from your current care provider.
